How to Measure
Measurement Guide
Use a soft tape. Stand naturally, don't hold your breath.
Shoulders
Across your back from one shoulder bone edge to the other. Keep tape flat.
Bust
Around the fullest part of your chest, parallel to the floor. Wear a non-padded bra.
Waist
At your natural waistline — the narrowest part of your torso, ~2 cm above the navel.
Hips
Around the widest part of your hips and seat, ~8 inches below your waist. Keep level.
Shirt / Kameez Length
From the shoulder point straight down to your desired hem length.
Sleeve Length
From shoulder edge down outer arm to wrist (full), elbow (half), or mid-forearm (¾).
Arm Hole
Around the fullest part of your upper arm, midway between shoulder and elbow. Add 2 cm ease.
Trouser Length
From waist down the outside of your leg to ankle. For palazzo/gharara, measure to the floor.
Trouser Waist
Where you wear your shalwar — usually at the navel. Often 2–4" more than natural waist.
Thigh
Around the fullest part, just below the crotch. Essential for churidar and cigarette pants.
Ankle / Paoncha
Around your ankle bone. For churidar, also measure foot circumference for the opening.
Front Neck Depth
From base of neck down to where you want the neckline. Round ~7", V-neck ~9".
