Buy Afrozeh Dresses in the UK: The Complete Guide to Collections and Styling
Share
Afrozeh has quickly become a popular Pakistani brand in the UK in about six years. If you're shopping in Britain, the challenge is not wanting an Afrozeh item, but figuring out which of its many collections to choose, whether the price is fair, and how to avoid extra customs fees.
This guide answers common questions about Afrozeh: who runs it, whether the quality is worth the price, what each collection is for, how much it costs, and how to buy it in the UK. It is written by our team, who work with Afrozeh products every week.
About Afrozeh
Is Afrozeh a Pakistani brand, and where is it made?
Yes, Afrozeh is a Pakistani designer brand based in Lahore. Its clothes are designed, woven, embroidered and finished in Pakistan, with no production done overseas.
How old is Afrozeh, and what's the brand's history?
Afrozeh started in 2019, making it a young brand. However, the family behind it has been in textiles for three generations. Most fashion brands begin with a design and look for fabric, but Afrozeh began with the fabric, focusing on its textile heritage. For its first four years, Afrozeh was mostly known in Pakistan with little presence in the UK. This changed with The Brides '23 collection, which sold out fast and created a waiting list, putting Afrozeh alongside other popular brands such as Faiza Saqlain and Kanwal Malik for British Asian buyers.
Who owns Afrozeh? Who is the CEO?
Afrozeh Group is led by CEO Adeel Sheikh, who also manages its other brands like Ayzel and Dearjune. The company keeps a low profile and does not share much about its leadership, letting the collections speak for themselves.
Is Afrozeh a luxury brand, and is it worth the price?
Afrozeh is in the upper-middle to luxury range of Pakistani fashion. Its bridal wear is considered luxury, while its lawn collection is premium but not luxury. The value depends on what you buy. The lawn and pret lines are priced fairly compared to similar brands, showing the brand's fabric quality. The formal wear is more expensive due to its detailed embellishments. Bridal lines are priced differently and are in a separate market.
Is Afrozeh good quality?
We see the products every week, so here's what we know.
The fabrics
Afrozeh uses a wide range of fabrics: lawn for summer, organza for formal wear, raw silk for winter, jacquard for luxury items, net for bridal wear, tissue for layered styles, karandi and velvet for winter, paper cotton for Eid, and zari for embroidery. The base fabric is usually very strong, with organza keeping its shape and raw silk holding folds well.
Is Afrozeh embroidery hand or machine work?
Both types are used:
- Hand embellishment — sequins, beads, stones and zari — is used on bridal and festive items. The Brides, Shehnai Wedding Formals, and some Dastangoi pieces have real handwork.
- Machine embroidery with fine threadwork is used for lawn and lighter formal wear, like Mulaqat and Sunspell. This method keeps prices lower while maintaining good fabric quality.
On bridal pieces, embellishments are placed on the front panel, dupatta borders, and hems, giving Afrozeh bridal wear a more subtle look.
What our customers tell us
We often hear four main things in WhatsApp chats, reorders, and messages after events:
- The embroidery is elegant, not heavy. Customers who want a light look often come back.
- The stitching is neat. Items arrive well made and properly lined, and patterns match at the seams.
- It looks like the photos. The colours, embroidery, and drape match the pictures, which is often a problem with online shopping, but not with Afrozeh.
- It works for modest dressing. Long shirts, full shararas, and layered dupattas fit well with hijab styles without needing changes.
Reordering shows quality. A customer who buys a second Afrozeh piece after wearing the first proves the quality better than any review.
The collection calendar: what launches when
This is important to know about Afrozeh, but few explain it.
Afrozeh's collections are annual, not one-time releases. The same collections come back each year with new designs, which is why they have a year added. For example, The Brides Edit '26 follows '24 and '23. Hayat '25 is this year's version of the embroidered formals line. Sunspell '26 is the current summer lawn. Same name, new designs, new season.
| Roughly when | What lands |
|---|---|
| Spring | Lawn season opens with Sunspell, Luxury Lawn, Mulaqat and Day Break |
| Before Eid | Festive lawn drops and Eid pret, including Sheer Khurma |
| Late summer | Transitional lawn — Florette, Summer Together, The Haze |
| Autumn | Formals for wedding season — Shehnai, Hayat, Dastangoi, La Fuchsia, Divani |
| Winter | Bridals and winter pret — The Brides Edit, Winter Pret, Slate |
What is Afrozeh's latest collection? The newest lines are the 2026 summer and festive lawns, along with Shehnai Wedding Formals '26, La Fuchsia '26, and Silk Muse '26, with The Brides Edit '26 as the current bridal collection. New editions come out several times a year, so always check what is live. See the current Afrozeh collection here.
Every Afrozeh collection, explained
Afrozeh has four main types of collections. Here's what each one means:
Lawn
Mulaqat: Light embroidered lawn with long shirts and shararas. Good for everyday and festive wear, a reliable choice for Eid.
Sunspell: Premium summer lawn with embroidered and printed three-piece suits in soft colours. More for everyday luxury than special occasions.
Luxury Lawn: The luxury version of lawn. Heavier embroidery, maxis, and open shirts, priced higher than standard lawn.
Florette: Floral-embroidered lawn in darker colours, for late summer and early autumn. Useful in the UK where the season lasts longer.
The Haze, Muted Muse, Day Break, Summer Together: Seasonal lawn, generally lighter on embroidery and gentler on price than Luxury Lawn.
Formals
Shehnai Wedding Formals: Organza and net with heavy embellishments, for wedding guests and close family. The dressiest line before bridal wear, and the answer for most people attending a UK Asian wedding.
Hayat: Embroidered formals in lehenga-choli and short shirts, plus long maxis with shararas. Good for weddings and engagements, often the best value.
Dastangoi: Evening wear in net and raw silk with detailed designs; some pieces have hand embroidery. A unique choice for guests.
La Fuchsia: Raw silk and net for festive events, with gowns and angrakha styles. Good for mehndi and engagement parties.
Divani Silk: Lighter embroidered silk formals for brunches and family gatherings, not for weddings.
Ready to wear
Basic Pret: Stitched with minimal embellishments, clean styles. For work, university, and casual dinners. The cheapest way to buy from the brand.
Cords Pret: Textured co-ord sets with a modern cut for those who prefer a contemporary look.
Silk Muse: Ready-to-wear in silk, a bit dressier than Basic Pret.
Sheer Khurma Eid Pret: The Eid ready-to-wear collection released before the festival each year.
Winter Pret and Slate: Heavier pret for colder months, useful if you are buying for a British winter.
Bridals
The Brides Edit: The most famous line, and the one that made its UK reputation. Known for hand-embellished gowns with lehengas, peshwas, and angrakha frocks in net, tissue, and raw silk. This is the only Afrozeh line with true bridal weight and full handwork.
Which Afrozeh collection for your event?
If you read one section, make it this one. Start with the occasion, not the photograph.
| Occasion | Buy from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You're the bride — barat or walima | The Brides Edit | Only line with full bridal weight and handwork throughout |
| Wedding guest or family | Shehnai or Dastangoi | Dressy without competing with the bride |
| Nikkah | Hayat or Divani Silk | Formal but restrained, and re-wearable afterwards |
| Mehndi or dholki | La Fuchsia or Hayat | Colour and movement, light enough to dance in |
| Engagement | La Fuchsia or Hayat | Occasion-level embellishment without bridal weight |
| Eid | Mulaqat, Sunspell or Sheer Khurma | Festive embroidery, comfortable for a full day of visiting |
| Summer & casual | Sunspell, The Haze, Florette | Breathable lawn, easiest to wear in warm weather |
| Work, university, dinners | Basic Pret or Cords Pret | Stitched, minimal embellishment, wear immediately |
Is Afrozeh worth the price?
Why is Afrozeh expensive?
There are three main reasons. First, the fabric is better than most. Second, the decorations on formal and bridal wear are thick, and many are added by hand. Third, they make small batches, so each piece costs more to produce.
Does Afrozeh have sales, and when?
Yes, they have sales during the season and for holidays. They also discount older items when new ones come out, usually after Eid and at the end of the lawn season. Sales often have limited sizes and editions.
Afrozeh vs Maria B, Sana Safinaz & Asim Jofa
All four are good brands doing different jobs. Here's how we'd frame the choice for a UK buyer.
| Brand | Strongest at | Choose it when |
|---|---|---|
| Afrozeh | Fabric quality; restrained, elegant embroidery; bridal | You want understated luxury and a modest-friendly silhouette |
| Maria B | Breadth of range and size availability | You want the widest choice across price points in one place |
| Sana Safinaz | Print design and summer lawn | You prefer bold prints over embroidery |
| Asim Jofa | Festive volume and frequent drops | You want maximum sparkle for the money |
In short: if you want good fabric, choose Afrozeh. For more choices, go with Maria B. For prints, pick Sana Safinaz. For value at events, try Asim Jofa. We sell all of them, so we won't push you toward just one.
Buying original Afrozeh in the UK
Is Maria Faisal an authorised Afrozeh retailer?
Yes. We have a written agreement with Afrozeh and have been buying directly from them since 2024. Each piece comes with its original packaging and tags. Our full Afrozeh range is here.
Does Afrozeh ship to the UK and USA?
Yes, they have an international site that ships worldwide and sometimes offers free shipping. However, you are responsible for import duties, for working out your own sizing, and for returns if the fit is wrong. Buying from a UK retailer helps with duties, checks the item before shipping, and makes alterations easier.
How to spot a fake
- Embroidery density. Genuine pieces have consistent thread tension and no gaps in the fill.
- Base fabric. Afrozeh's organza is crisp and structured. If it's soft and shiny, it's not real.
- Labels and packaging. Woven brand labels, care and composition tags, and an article name that matches the collection listing.
- The price. A formal at a fraction of the collection price is a replica, not a bargain.
- The edition year. Afrozeh restocks best sellers, but a seller advertising full size runs of a three-year-old edition is worth questioning.
Sizing, stitching & what's included
Does Afrozeh run small?
No, Afrozeh runs true to size, which is not true of every Pakistani label. If you wear a UK 10–12 in other Pakistani designer wear, you'll take the same in Afrozeh. As a starting point:
| Afrozeh size | Approx. UK size |
|---|---|
| XS | UK 6 |
| S | UK 8 |
| M | UK 10–12 |
| L | UK 14 |
| XL | UK 16 |
If you're between sizes or want a specific shirt length, choose custom sizing instead of guessing.
Is Afrozeh stitched or unstitched? Can I get it custom stitched?
Afrozeh sells both in Pakistan, but most of what we have is stitched or made to your size, as that's what UK buyers prefer. Finding a good tailor here can be slow and costly.
Custom stitching is included free on every order. Trained tailors will make the piece to your measurements. You can send your measurements via WhatsApp after ordering or enter them at checkout.
What's included — dupatta and trouser?
Afrozeh suits usually come as three pieces: shirt, dupatta, and trouser, with laces and decorations as per the design. Bridal and formal pieces may differ. The product page shows what's included, and you can ask us if it's unclear before ordering.
Fabric care, shrinkage & colour
Does Afrozeh lawn shrink or bleed? Good-quality lawn from Pakistani mills usually keeps its colour, but dyed cotton might lose some colour on the first wash. Lawn can also change shape a bit after washing. Here are two rules: wash lawn in cold water and separately the first time, and never machine wash anything with embroidery.
- Embroidered and embellished pieces — dry clean only. This includes formal wear, bridal wear, and anything with dabka, sequins, or beads. Water and movement can harm the embellishments before they harm the fabric.
- Plain lawn and pret. Wash by hand in cold water with mild detergent, and dry in the shade. Sunlight can fade dyed lawn quickly.
- Press on the reverse, with a cloth between the iron and any embroidery.
- Store hung, with the dupatta folded separately, and keep sequinned pieces out of sunlight to prevent dulling.
Delivery, customs & returns
The main concern with Pakistani designer wear is not the checkout but the bill when it arrives.
How long does delivery take to the UK?
It takes 7–14 working days worldwide by DHL, tracked. Allow more time if your item needs custom stitching, and order at least three to four weeks before your event, and longer for bridal items.
Will I pay customs on an Afrozeh order?
No. We ship DDP — Delivered Duty Paid to the UK, USA, and most countries, so all duties are paid before shipping. The total at checkout is the final amount, and nothing is collected on delivery.
Can I return or exchange?
Damaged or faulty items are covered by a 14-day refund or exchange. Message us within 14 days of delivery. Custom-stitched pieces can't be returned for a change of mind, which is standard for made-to-measure, but any fault or damage is covered in full. If the fit isn't right, we handle alterations rather than sending you to a tailor.
